When you see a sign, what do you do?

Well, that probably depends on what the sign is for. If we see a sign that says “STOP”, we know that we need to stop. If we see a sign that says “Farmer’s Market” we know that we can buy eggs and carrots.

What about signs that you can’t see? What about signs that you hear? Today we will hear about some of these signs in the stories that Jesus used. They are called ‘parables’ and have been described as ‘earthly stories with a heavenly meaning’. Within these stories is the good news of the kingdom of God.

As we hear these stories and as we recognise the good news, listen for the signs that point us to ‘repent and believe’. The good news calls us to repent and believe. The great news is that we can.
