Most great stories begin by describing a place and time that is wonderful. Then something terrible happens and the quest begins to find something or complete something so life can return to what it was before. And then the story ends with the problem being solved, the evil being destroyed, and peace being enjoyed again.
This is the part of the gospel story, the good news of Jesus, where things are going really well. But the shadow of darkness is lurking on the edges, and at the end of this section, it steps forward to reveal itself. The darkness of Pride.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
