The role of a mediator is important when there are two people or two groups that misunderstand each other. Here in the ancient text of Leviticus we see God appoints priests to serve as mediators. Here they will serve God and they will serve the people. Their role is vital for the people of Israel. Their role also points forward to a final priest – to Jesus, the Great High Priest. But that’s not the end of the story either. So the instructions for the priests help us to know how to live as priests as well.

In this sermon Brian aims to help us see the important work of the priests, how this is summed up in Jesus, and how it guides us today.
