Every December, Christians try to help people look beyond the decorations, the lights, the rushing and everything else that happens around Christmas, to see Jesus.
And every year, it feels just a little bit harder. But maybe that’s how it should be.
Maybe we need to remember there was a time when the story of Jesus was new and unknown. So as we open the gospel of Matthew today and reflect on the long list of names we read, we hope you will see it as much more than just a list of names.
Like the rest of the Bible, it all points to Jesus. And we hope to do the same.
